Oh deer

Last week I hoped to bring you digital venison, but had to content myself with "another day." Well, it's another day, and this one grazed obligingly in someone's front yard a few feet from me, while I wrestled with my backpack to retrieve my phone.
This was just one of five that I cycled past today!

You're lucky to get that close. I have always found deer to be the most elusive and shy of animals. I suppose she was too busy feeding to notice you!

You're lucky, living in a Disney cartoon and all. :)

Hi Bazza, this one was well aware of me. She'd appeared around the corner of the hedge to the left of the photo and looked at me as I cycled up. While I was getting out my phone, she ambled in front of me and started grazing. They aren't tame -- don't try to pet them -- but don't see people as a threat.

David, LOL! I haven't quite mastered the art of whistling and being surrounded by birds yet though.

Indeed, RaShelle, and it always brings a smile to my face.
